A baby elephant was born at Woodland Park Zoo Friday, Nov. 3. At 12 hours old, the unnamed calf is already bonding with Chai. the calf was nursing yesterday in short spurts. None of Woodland Park's elephants will be on public view today but may be tomorrow or Monday, depending on how Chai and her calf are doing. (November 04, 2000)
