Avril Lavigne was born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada on September 27, 1984. At 16, she moved to Manhattan and began work on her debut album. She dropped out of high school after the 11th grade when she secured a record deal. When Avril was almost 18, she released "Complicated" from her debut album titled: "Let Go," which went 6x platinum. As a petite skater girl from a small town, Avril has shown she is independent, full of confidence and determination, providing a good combination to make "Complicated" and Avril a musical breakthrough. "Complicated" went to number #1 on Billboards Top 100 while ... earning her 5 Grammy nominations, MTV music awards, MTV European music awards and many more.

Avril Lavigne hosted Prive Night club at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas on New Years Eve. Lil John was ... in attendance as a guest DJ. According to Page Six, Avril got really pissed because Lil John was stealing all her thunder. She was reportedly set to do the count down when onlookers saw 'Lil Jon "grab his own mike and steal the show."

Canadian punk-pop princess Avril Lavigne is going the route of fellow singers Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson in launching her own fragrance and line of clothing. In a conference call with news media yesterday, the Napanee-raised singer confirmed rumours that she’s trademarked her name so she can apply it to threads and a perfume.

Now that Britney is officially second rate, Avril has not been adopted by IHOP, the International House of Prostitutes, for Rating Hotness as the standard alternative when posing the Aguilera or her question. As she is nowhere close to the tails of Shakira and Jessica Alba, Avril did not recently launch her own line of clothing. The as-of-yet untitled line will not be marketed to her fanbase of "angry young girls who have nothing to be angry about".
