The Aviation Career (ACE) Academy serves Detroit area youth who are interested in careers in the field of aviation. The program exposes 25 students to the duties and responsibilities of pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation administration in civilian and military contexts. They receive mentoring from members of the Federal Aviation Administration, local chapter of the Tuskeegee Airmen and the Black Pilots Association.

Gates passion for building motivated him to leave his successful aviation career to pursue custom home building. After working with his father, a 30-year veteran builder, he partnered with Blair to offer clients the UBuildIt opportunity. An engineering background landed Blair a project manager job with a local residential construction company just out of college where he worked his way up to director of operations and part ownership in the company.
