Audio Conference Call: Participants
built 278 days ago
Acrobat Connect Professional gives hosts several options for dialing out to include participants in an audio conference call. You can dial out to a registered participant by using the telephone number stored in his or her profile or by entering a new telephone number. To include an unregistered participant in the audio conference call only, you can enter a new name and number to dial. You can create an offline entry to dial later and a list of offline entries to dial all at once. And you can hang up on selected attendees.

One nice feature that many conference call services for business users implement is roll call control. Many conference call systems announce the entrance of new participants by a beep or other notification tone. While this is sufficient for many users, it can be difficult to keep up with the participants without having to stop the meeting and ask who joined (if the new participant did not immediately introduce him or herself). Some teleconference systems require entering participants to state their name before they can enter the conference call. Upon entry, the conference call system will play the recording of their name to announce their presence. On some systems, this feature can be suspended to hold playing the recordings until the moderator enters a code, at which time all new entrance recordings will be played.

Audio conference call options run the gamut, but one feature that should always be considered necessary is that of audio. What many don’t necessarily realize is that not all conferences have to involve direct or even real time communication. There are some software packages that provide a very simply interface where text is posted by the participants and isn’t necessarily updated immediately. While for a very limited portion of businesses this may suffice, many businesses have found that by adding audio to a conference call they are better able to communicate thoughts and ideas. With the ability to give and receive instant feedback, many companies feel they are able to remain more productive by not wasting time in between responses.

The TeamTalkPro conference call system uses a dedicated custom processing hardware card to bridge calls together, this ensures consistent high quality conference audio. People are conferenced together in a unique matrix format, which means that participants with poor quality or noisy lines don't affect other participants, and ... allows there to be up to 57 people in a conference without any loss of quality. This also allows separate TeamTalkPro audio conferences running on different systems, possibly in separate geographical locations, to be linked together.
