Ati Drivers: Ati Technologies
built 639 days ago
The drivers that you computer hardware requires for proper operation are perhaps more important than the hardware itself. A driver is the program that is used to control a particular hardware device and is written specifically for a certain model of device whether it is a video card, sound card or other.Video cards are perhaps the most frequently changing piece of hardware for computers today. With the vast increase in graphical components of operating systems, programs and video games, these video cards need to be continually made more powerful in order to keep up. Of course, it does not matter how powerful a video card is if it is not running the proper driver designed to use all of its features. ATI video cards are no exception to this. The ATI Radeon series video card is perhaps the most commonly used by computer gamers today. Their extremely powerful video cards can cost upwards of $1,000 for the top of the line hardware available through ATI Technologies.

ATI CrossFire - This technology was ATI's response to NVIDIA's SLI platform. It allowed, by using a secondary video card and a dual PCI-E motherboard based on an ATI Crossfire-compatible chipset, the ability to combine the power of the two video cards to increase performance through a variety of different rendering options. There is an option for additional PCI-E video card plugging into the third PCI-E slot for gaming physics, or another option to do physics on the second video card.[14]
