Atheist-turned-Christian Lee Strobel is a New York Times best-selling author of nearly 20 books including the award-winning THE CASE FOR CHRIST, THE CASE FOR FAITH, THE CASE FOR A CREATOR, and INSIDE THE MIND OF UNCHURCHED HARRY AND MARY. The former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune, Strobel was described by the Washington Post as "one of the evangelical community's most popular apologists." In 2005, he shared the prestigious Charles "Kip" Jordon Christian Book of the Year award for a curriculum he co- authored about the movie THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. Strobel enjoys an extensive fan base that he reaches out to through a highly-trafficked website (http://www.leestrobel.com/) and numerous grassroots events including countless speaking engagements to sold-out audiences. He has been interviewed on such national television networks as ABC, Fox News, PBS and CNN. His latest book, THE CASE FOR THE REAL JESUS, comes out in August.

Some people make the assumption that an Atheist claims to have all the necessary knowledge to make the affirmation that there is no "god". The believer, on the other hand, claims to HAVE this knowledge of the existence of his/her "god", yet they lack the proof of such claims. In my case, I have had the opportunity to study different religions and all of them are missing a key element, the ability to corroborate through a scientific method (and be able to duplicate the experiment under controlled circumstances, etc.), the actual existence of their deity.

In January, 2006, Atheist announced they were regrouping to perform live during the summer and fall of that year. The line-up was Shaefer, Burkey, Choy and Flynn. Shaefer only provided vocals due to long battles with tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome[3]. Gnostic guitarist Sonny Carson handled all of Shaefer's guitar parts. Recently Chris Baker of Gnostic has been replacing Burkey because of legal troubles.

Atheist Arguably the ultimate progressive metal band of their day, Atheist's impossibly Byzantine death-jazz proved too advanced even for committed metal heads to stomach. Over the span of three albums admirably recorded in spite of crippling adversity, the band's inventive but inaccessible style has earned them a lasting respect, but likewise compromised their chances of attaining widespread success.
