1. Online Course -- Universities
   This course was created by Pacific EMPRINTS, at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Anthropology. Development of the course was aided in part by Alan Katz, MD, MPH, Sean Doyle, BA, and Anna Daddario, MSW. Creation of the course was funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Grant No. T01HP6427-0100.
2. Distance Education -- Regent University
   A survey of headlines in The Chronicle of Higher Education over the past decade reveals increasing momentum in distance education. In 1989 The Chronicle declared, "?Distance Learning? Found To Be Effective" while in 1992 it advised, "University Systems Urged to Invest in Distance Learning ." By 1996 The Chronicle covered "The Virtues of Virtual Universities," in 1998 it informed readers that, "A Philanthropy Puts Millions Into Asynchronous Learning," and just last month an article heralded, "Top Business Schools Seek to Ride a Bull Market in On-Line M.B.A.?s." Such enthusiasm is not unfounded considering that current estimates project that over three million people will be attending distance education classes by the turn of the century, up from approximately one million in 1997. By 2002 eighty four percent of four-year colleges are expected to offer courses at-a-distance, with online programs showing the most growth.
3. Alberta -- Alberta Government
   Alberta's oldest and largest university is Edmonton's University of Alberta. The University of Calgary, once affiliated with the University of Alberta, gained its autonomy in 1966, and is now the second largest university in Alberta. There is ... Athabasca University, which focuses on distance learning, and the University of Lethbridge. There are 15 colleges that receive direct public funding, along with two technical institutes, NAIT and SAIT.[15] There is also a large and active private sector of post-secondary institutions, including DeVry University. Students may also receive government loans and grants while attending selected private institutions. There has been some controversy in recent years over the rising cost of post-secondary education for students (as opposed to taxpayers).
4. Distance Learning Graduate Program -- Executive Master
   The distance learning degree option for the Master of Health Science is specifically intended to meet the needs of the working professional. The nonthesis program is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of working occupational therapists for practice in a complex and challenging health care system. It provides preparation for new practice areas, leadership roles, and independent practice and is delivered through the Internet. In addition to the departmental requirements listed above, applicants to the distance learning program must have basic personal computer competency and access to a computer that meets minimal configuration requirements.
5. Online Teaching and Learning -- Students
   Online teaching and learning have become common to many organizations. Various traditional colleges and universities currently conduct academic courses—such as rhetoric and technical communication—online. Many times, students need acculturative exercises to assess their “readiness” for the online environment and possible follow-up orientation. Those who teach online and administer such programs ... need orientation and training for their own “readiness” in online environments. They need training at organizational levels not just for technical platform-specific skills development, but also for the practical and theoretical transfer of pedagogical principles and practices to online environments. Similarly, non-traditional educational institutions that provide learning assistance or market to distance learners conduct employee training and development.
6. Online Course -- Online Courses
   The online course provides a multi-faceted training experience, including Real Life Applications, Agent Resources which can be beneficial after the course, multimedia reviews and instant feedback testing. 7. Alberta -- Provinces
   Alberta [1] is the second westernmost of the 10 provinces in Canada. (only British Columbia is farther west) It includes parts of the Canadian Rockies and is known for its oil and natural gas fields and cattle farming.
8. Alberta -- Alberta St
   Alberta used to be an affordable place to live, but those days seem to be fading out with gentrification and Portland's hot real estate market. One estimate says property values have gone up 80% in this area, just in the last few years. In Alberta, you will typically find modest homes with older East Portland architectural styles such as Craftsman style Bungalow, Cottages, Old Portland, and other mid-sized, one and two story homes. 9. Airdrie
   Airdrie's start to this season was a disappointing one as they kicked-off their Second Division campaign with poor performance and a loss to Raith Rovers. The display was so mediocre, in fact, that it resulted in some players, most notably summer signing James Sharp who had failed to impress in pre-season, being booed as they left the park at the final whistle. Things did not get better for the Diamonds in other competitions as they fell at the first hurdle away to Partick Thistle in the League Cup; losing 2-1 thanks to Stevie Murray's last gasp winner.
