Asteroids: Gravity
built 214 days ago
You take control of a spaceship and battle both gravity enemies (floating Asteroids and flying saucers) in a fight to stay alive. The 2600 port of the classic coin-op has lost some of its luster during the translation project (as you'd expect), most prominently in the graphics department. Here, the sharp vector graphics has been replaced with a colorful raster-graphics playfield.

A few other asteroids have surfaces made of basalt from volcanic lava flows. When asteroids collide with one another, they can chip off pieces from each other. Some of those pieces, called meteoroids, can get close to the Earth and be pulled toward the Earth by its gravity.

Some asteroids travel in pairs, spinning around a common centre of gravity. These are called 'binaries'. Astronomers were surprised by this, because they thought their gravity would be too weak to bind them together.
