Teoma.com is the newest addition to the Ask Jeeves Web Properties family. Teoma Is a Webcrawler/robot that constantly searches the web by following hypertext links, building an increasing index of website pages for searching purposes. Since it is always gathering data, it creates a database of information that is always up-to-date.

Not everyone gets a website devoted to their retirement, but old Jeeves has been the public face for the Ask Jeeves search engine for over a decade. IAC head Barry Diller, whose resemblance to the butler has been noted in some circles, said in 2005 Jeeves would be put out to pasture.

As Ask Jeeves has continued to improve its search engine, it has decided it no longer needs Web site owners to proactively request their sites to be included in its index, he said. Basically, Ask Jeeves feels confident it will find all Web sites that should be indexed on its own, Lazone said.
