Ashley was helped in her feud by Trish Stratus. Her friendship with Trish soon turned out to be a problem when Trish's friend-turned-stalker, Mickie James, became jealous of the friendship between the two women. In February 2006, Ashley suffered a crack in her left fibula which required surgery. While recovering from her injury, she was kidnapped by Mickie and held hostage in the ring until Trish saved her.

Through the early part of 2006, Ashley became the victim of a series of vicious attacks from a jealous Mickie James. At the Royal Rumble, Mickie defeated Ashley with then Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, as the special guest referee.[9] Ashley got her revenge one week later by pinning James in the rematch on RAW.[10]

Trish backed Victoria into the corner and made the tag then Ashley somersaulted out of the corner and scored with a clothesline. Following another somersault, Ashley delivered a dropkick to Victoria, who was still on the mat, but Torrie tossed Ashley out to the floor where Candice got a couple of shots in and choked Ashley with her robe before Trish chased her off. Victoria scored with a somersault legdrop from the apron inside and then the former WWE Women's Champion applied a rear chinlock before tagging Torrie in.
