Asha first met Rahul Dev Burman (a.k.a. "Pancham") when she was a mother of two and he was in 10th grade having dropped out to pursue music. Their partnership was first noticed in Teesri Manzil (1966). She went on to record a variety of songs with him - cabarets, rock, disco, ghazals, Indian classical music and many more.

This is Asha Bhosle in her new avatar. The high priestess of Bollywood music has gone for an image make-over. At 64. And granny's looking glamorous. The middle-class Maharashtrian housewife next door is the new pop icon, taking over from the no-holds-barred young breed. The awards are coming in so quick, they may become a habit.

"It's a new experiment for me," says Bhosle. "It's a chance to go outside our boundaries." It's been a new experiment for Kronos as well, which has never worked with a lead singer before, says founder and artistic director David Harrington. The quartet usually works closely with composers. But Bollywood composer R. D. Burman, whose music first caught Harrington's ears more than 15 years ago, died in 1994. The closest link to his music was his wife and muse, Asha Bhosle.

The music video is part of a larger project, “Asha and Friends”, conceptualised by Shamir Tandon, CEO of Virgin Records India, and produced by wireless telephone network Mauj. Tandon first suggested to Asha Bhosle that they producer a collaboration album with well known singers. Asha put a little twist into the proposal by suggesting that they approach capable singers not publicly known for their talent.

Asha in her finale started with introduction of her musical co-artists -- some of them have been accompanying her in their three generations. Conductor was Mukesh Parmar- Yanni look alike. Musical geniuses solo skills from these artists were soon transformed into harmony of medley woven with Rabba Rabba ( Mansoon Wedding), Reshmi Salwaar Kurta Jaali, Shehri Baabu Dil Lehri Baabu, only to reach crescendo with Kajra Mohabbat waala,
