Arnold Schwarzenegger: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
built 660 days ago
Hoping to prevent a lengthy WGA strike like the one that lasted 22 weeks back in '88, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday said he would be taking measures himself to end the current work stoppage. "I'm talking to the parties that are involved because I think it's very important that we settle that as quickly as possible, because it has a tremendous economic impact on our state," Reuters quotes him as saying. Schwarzenegger says the "sad story" here belongs to the cast and crew members who will lose their jobs as television productions shut down. "The studio executives are not going to suffer, the union leaders are not going to suffer, the writers that are striking, they are not going to suffer," said the Governator. read more

In all Arnold has won over 18 titles in both body building and power lifting and is the most famous body builder of all time. Arnold was able to cash in on his success as a body builder by becoming one of the highest paid movie stars of all time, earning an estimated 30 million dollars for the role of the terminator in Terminator III. Arnold is ... a real estate mogul, owning such properties as the building that Johnny Carson has his offices in, has worked with the Special Olympics, and Inner City Games Foundation, has been the Chairman of the President’s council of physical fitness and sports from 1990-1994, is part owner of a restaurant, Schatzi on Main, owns Oak Production studios, is married to Maria Shriver, and has 4 children. And if this wasn’t enough for the “Austrian Oak”, in late 2003, Arnold became Governor of California after California’s first ever recall election. One can only ask themselves what Arnold will do next.

Arnold Schwarzenegger did the right thing when he immigrated to America from Austria as a young man - he came here legally. As governor, he did the right thing [recently] when he vetoed the bill that would have given California driver's licenses to immigrants who, unlike the governor, entered this country illegally.
