The Army has been having recruiting trouble for months, missing its goals for 4 straight months, the first time in decades. Facing scandals and high death tolls in war torn Iraq and other parts of the middle east, recruiting numbers are at an all time low.

The Spanish Army has existed continuously since the reign of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella (late 15th century). The oldest and largest of the three services, its mission was the defense of peninsular Spain, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Melilla, Ceuta and the Spanish islands and rocks off the northern coast of Africa. The army is completing a major reorganization. It had previously been organized into nine regional operational commands. These were reduced to six commands in conjunction with a revised deployment of forces: Central Command, Southern Command, Levante Command, Eastern Pyrenees Command, Northwestern Command, and Western Pyrenees Command. In addition there were the two military zones of the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

During the month, motor transport parks were established; an Army motor show was held; the Army area was reorganized; and the centralization of military property was initiated in anticipation of returning it to the United States. On April 20, 1919, Third Army command changed from Maj. Gen. Dickman to Lt. Gen. Hunter Liggett.

In "Army Wives," an unlikely tribe is formed when four women and one man create a bond based on one common theme: they all love a soldier who could die at any moment. Now instantly living with her children on the post, she quickly experiences the politics of being housed in an ultra competitive environment. The "wives" ... includes one husband, Roland Burton (Brown), who is trying to adapt to his Lieutenant Colonel wife's (Davis) post-traumatic stress syndrome after her return from the war.

This 2007 ranking was determined by the Partnership for Public Service and American University’s Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation. The rankings were developed by measuring workplace satisfaction among current employees in 283 Federal agencies in areas such as pay and benefits, family-friendly culture and benefits, and work/life balance.
