Arlene made her first appearance on Broadway in Mr. Strauss Goes to Boston in 1945 lasting all of 12 performances. It was said that Mr. Strauss should have stayed in Boston rather than coming to New York. After the show closed Arlene took to modeling for $30 an hour with the Harry Conover Agency.
