Architecture: Landscape Architecture
built 190 days ago
Brunelleschi, in the building of the dome, not only transformed the cathedral and the city of Florence, but also the role and status of the architect. Architecture is the art and science of designing buildings and other physical structures. A wider definition often includes the design of the total built environment, from the macro-level of how a building integrates with its surrounding manmade landscape (see town planning, urban design, and landscape architecture) to the micro-level of architectural or construction details and, sometimes, furniture. The term "Architecture" is ... used for the profession of providing architectural services.
The Division of Landscape Architecture offers students an interdisciplinary setting in which to learn and think critically and creatively in addressing environmental issues. Significant in this regard is the graduate level education of future landscape architects who will be versatile in the various aspects of practice typifying the profession, including an environmental ethic, design development, project management at multiple scales, communication, emerging technologies, ethical conduct, as well as areas of research.
