Such historic survival is nothing less than an awesome achievement. Arab Christianity has been buried beneath a superimposed western veneer-- the legacy of nearly 100 years when the faith was closely aligned with European imperial power.

Yes, it's very true that most people in the West, especially America, are painfully unaware that there's such a thing as an Arab Christian. My experience has been that most people get something of a stunned look on their face and then stare at me as if I'm misinformed when I (try to) explain to them that Palestinian Christians are ... the victims of the Zionist State of Israel. Indeed, this is something that the media tries to keep out of the public eye as much as possible.
