The members of Apartment 26 are all young enough to remember summer vacations, and they'll be working hard enough this summer to miss them like oxygen. They've already done a serious tour circuit late last year and into the new one, and now they're back in the van for this summer's Ozzfest, this time as grizzled veterans after their experiences on last year's Metal extravaganza.

The eclectic British metal band Apartment 26 blends hard rock, drum 'n' bass, and rave elements into their aggressive sound. Before they released their debut album, Hallucinating, the quintet -- consisting of vocalist Biff, guitarist Jon Greasley, bassist Louis Cruden, keyboardist A.C. Huckvale, and drummer Kevin Temple -- issued an independent EP that they sold at their stint on OzzFest '99's second stage. The group ... appeared on the soundtracks for Heavy Metal 2 and Mission Impossible 2, and had their music featured in the Playstation video game Gekido. Apartment 26 toured with System of a Down, Fu Manchu, Sevendust, Powerman 2000, and the Rollins Band around the time of Hallucinating's release in mid-2000. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

On their second album, Music for the Massive (out February 24), Apartment 26 have re-emerged a changed band. They still play loud, aggressive music that wouldn't feel out of place at Ozzfest. But rather than latch on to current trends, the bandmembers have mined new forms of precious metal, combining raging songs with jazzy textures and unconventional time signatures.
