Since his move to New York City Antonio has become one of the most sought after drummers in the international jazz scene. He has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz including Pat Metheny (He's a member of the Pat Metheny Group and the Pat Metheny Trio with Christian McBride), Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden, Gary Burton and Toots Thielmans.

Antonio remained very active in Boston's musical community performing and recording while finishing up his studies at Berklee. He became the first call drummer for some of New England's most active recording studios where he recorded for a wide variety of artists and producers. Prior to serving as the administrator for ACS, Sanchez worked for the Metropolitan Health District. During this period, the Health District amended and implemented a new food code for San Antonio and Bexar County and modernized the mobile living code, the swimming pool code and animal livestock regulations.

As a student, Sanchez led in planting two churches. He then served as a missionary in Panama, teaching church planting, and continuing in that role as an assistant director of the Home Mission Board (currently NAMB) and as a state evangelism and missions director for the Baptist Convention of New York.
