Anno 1602: Games
built 236 days ago
Anno 1602 ... features online and network play with up to 4 other players simultaneously. Because the network play is less sophisticated than that of modern games, lag and disconnections often occur. Despite this, Anno 1602 is still occasionally played by small groups of lan PC gamers, or by players over the internet.
Visually the game has more much style than Anno 1602. Part of the beauty of Anno 1503 is the new cultures and climatic regions that simply didn't exist in Anno 1602. The buildings, terrain and wildlife are all more detailed than before too. The series has remained in 2D but this is one type of game that moving to 3D would probably have meant a drop in the detail of the buildings and people. That said though, a 3D card is required as the game uses 3D terrain. As before the map can be rotated through four different angles and you can zoom in or out to allow you to see what you're doing.

GT Interactive has finally brought Sunflower’s European hit Anno 1602 over to the States. The game is set in, yes, 1602, and plays like a mix between an RTS and a colonial simulation. Find an island suitable for starting your colony, looking for mix between ore deposits, forests, and fertile soil (because you know how those colonials like their tobacco products). You play the part of the governor/king of the island and your job is to make it attractive to settlers. First build them some houses, then give them something to do, like fishing or farming sheep. As they develop, their abilities will grow, giving you more options, like vineyards, mines, and ranches.

In many ways the gameplay is very similar to that of Anno 1602. The basics of the gameplay that applied before still apply here. Your civilisation needs to be profitable and in order to make it profitable you'll have to enable them to develop. Your people begin as Pioneers then progress to Settlers, Citizens, Merchants and finally, Aristocrats. To progress from one level to another, your people need certain items/facilities. When you've satisfied the needs of your people, they'll take materials from your warehouse and upgrade their houses to show you that they too have moved up the social ladder.

Anno 1602 Mobile Game - Screenshot 1 (Midlet Review) Anno 1602, as many of you are probably well aware of, is a port of a semi-popular PC game of the same name released around 5 years ago. You've seen mobile games like Sumo Smash, or Snake, right? Picture the exact opposite. This game is hard to get into and unfortunately for the score in this review, easy to get out of. There are some saving touches that may keep some players hooked, but this game is ultimately like a lot of long real-life sail across the Atlantic - exciting at first but quickly very repetitious and not a whole lotta fun.
This FAQ is a guide to the video game Anno 1602. The text was written for the original "International" version of Anno 1602. This excludes the expansion, "New Islands, New Adventures". In North America and Australia both the original game and expansion were released together under the name "1602 A.D." This guide is still useful for those playing 1602 A.D., even though it does not cover the expansion in detail.
