Anna Friel is a revelation on Pushing Daisies. It is a tough program to get one's launch because of the number of extreme close-ups each actor receives each week. However Friel's great big eyes are fantastic, lively and expressive. She gets cuter each week because of her charm and broad range of facial expressions. There is more to her though. Like Hugh Laurie, Kevin McKidd, and others, Friel continues the tradition of British actors masking their accents behind great American accents and delivering great performances in their appointed roles.

British TV, film, and stage actress Anna Friel first became a household name as a teenager on the serial "Brookside" (Channel 4, 1982-2003), where she enjoyed a high-profile role playing British TV's first lesbian character. She went on to appear in supporting roles in British and American film productions, including the star-studded "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (1999) and "Rogue Trader" (1999) opposite Ewan McGregor, before making the leap to American series television in the courtroom drama "The Jury" (2004). However it was the debut of ABC's quirky dramedy "Pushing Daisies" (ABC, 2007- ) in the fall of 2007 that truly brought Friel international renown, earning her a Golden Globe nomination for her leading role in the season's critical fave.

This is Anna Friel who is a British chick who plays a girl named Chuck on Pushing Daisies; probably the most original show ever made for television. If you don’t watch it, don’t bother - you won’t get it. What you will get is that Anna Friel has a great rack and she’s British so that means she gets naked all time. I’d like to build a birdhouse in her soul.
