Masterminded by chief executive Jaqueline Gold, the brand aims to introduce the world of naughty lingerie and sex aids to women who'd never dreamt of using battery-powered machinery in the bedroom. Friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and the more explicit items nestle inbetween lots of fun novelty gifts. A fun and unintimidating place to shop.

Ann summers, the lingerie and sex toys retailer founded by millionaire brothers David and Ralph Gold in 1972 in London. The stores are designed to welcome successful women in business and not to have a dirty or grimy image. The business was doing sensibly fine but was nothing stunning. Then, in 1979 David Gold's daughter, Jacqueline, joined the ann summers business and came up with the plan of intent their hard work on cornering the women half of the population.
