built 642 days ago
With sassy Ann-Margret as her role model, it is no wonder that Lohan ... has her own momentary flirtations with controversy. But in the lobby before the show, the newly blond Lohan was on her best behavior. She squatted down to sign a fan's jeans and said, "The fact that Ann-Margret came here to be with me is incredible."

Ann-Margret starred in The Cincinnati Kid in 1965 opposite Steve McQueen. She ... co-starred along with friend Dean Martin in the spy spoof Murderer's Row (1966). Her redhead hair color (she is a 'natural brunette') was the idea of Sydney Guilaroff, the hairdresser who changed the hair color of other famous actresses such as Lucille Ball. She was offered the role in Cat Ballou which went to Jane Fonda but her manager turned it down without telling her. In March 1966, Ann-Margret and entertainers Chuck Day and Mickey Jones teamed up for a USO tour to entertain U.S. servicemen in remote parts of Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia. She still has great affection for the veterans and refers to them as "my gentlemen". Ann-Margret, Day and Jones reunited in November 2005 for an encore of this tour for veterans and troops at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.[5]
Ann-Margret has hopped into "Taxi" for 20th Century Fox and helmer Tim Story. The actress is set to play the mother of Jimmy Fallon's character, joining Fallon, Queen Latifah, Gisele Bundchen, Jennifer Esposito, Christian Kane, Henry Simmons and Ana Cristina De Oliceira in the project, which is shooting. "Taxi" is being produced by Luc Besson and Bob Simonds. It centers on Belle (Queen Latifah), the best taxi driver in New York, who reluctantly teams with Washburn (Fallon), the worst driver in the history of the New York Police Department, to bring a Brazilian beauty (Bundchen) and her bank-robbing gang to justice. TCF topper Hutch Parker and vp production Emma Watts are overseeing for the studio. The role marks a busy run for Ann-Margret.
Ann-Margret elicited favorable reviews for her part in the 1973 Western The Train Robbers, opposite John Wayne. She earned another Oscar nomination for her role in the film version of the rock opera Tommy (1975), and gave a notable performance alongside Anthony Hopkins in Magic (1978). As the decade progressed, she was featured in a few forgettable films, including The Cheap Detective (1978); The Villain (1979), which costarred Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Kirk Douglas; and Middle Age Crazy (1980).
