Nevis, being added to the Presidency in 1882, made matters worse, St. Kitts' view of Anguilla being reflected in its renaming the tri-state St. Christopher - Nevis with no mention of Anguilla until 1951. The tri-state entered the West Indies Federation in 1958 and reverted to being a separate colony on its abortion in 1962 with Anguilla still unhappy with the unholy marriage.

This coat of arms is the traditional symbol of Anguilla, originating during its movement for independence from St. Kitts and Nevis. The three dolphins symbolize friendship, wisdom and strength. They are joined together (continuity), on a white background (peace), hovering in a leap above the turquoise sea.
It may be easier to access Anguilla via St. Maarten, which can be reached non-stop from many eastern U.S. cities, as well as European cities. From there, Winair operates flights which can take 8 minutes to reach Anguilla from St.Maarten. Many visitors charter boats privately from the pier near Princess Julianna Airport in St. Maarten to Anguilla.
