Certainly, it still has a meaning for Angelina Jolie. She was in Pakistan a few weeks before it happened. She was going to Afghan refugee camps, and she apprehended something in the misery she witnessed there. "I was meeting people who had been displaced by the Taliban, meeting people who been displaced since the cold war. People had been displaced for so long that the camps were exhausted. They were destroying the camps and moving into the cities, and there was a lot of unrest, a lot of anger.

Angelina is putting the finishing touches on "Wanted," the thriller she was shooting in Prague earlier this summer. Too bad she's not back there because in Chicago, she'll have to share her turf with the cast of "The Dark Knight," the new Batman movie.

In 2000, Jolie appeared in her first summer blockbuster, Gone In 60 Seconds, in which she played Sarah "Sway" Wayland, ex-girlfriend of car-thief Nicolas Cage. The role was small, and the Washington Post criticized that "all she does in this movie is stand around, cooling down, modeling those fleshy, pulsating muscle-tubes that nest so provocatively around her teeth."[30] She later explained that the film was a welcome relief after the heavy role of Lisa Rowe, and it became her highest grossing movie up until then, earning $237 million internationally.[3]
In March 2002 – while filming the movie Beyond Borders – Jolie visited Osire refugee camp in Namibia, home to mostly Angolan refugees, and met the UNHCR’s Representative in Namibia, Hesdy Rathling. She and the production team of her movie later donated 270 tents and several hundred items of bedding and mattresses to the camp.
