Andy Kaufman: Deaths
built 225 days ago
According to a PR Web news story, Andy Kaufman faked his own death 20 years ago and has returned, alive and well. DNA tests prove that this is indeed the real Kaufman and not another hoax. Some fans are outraged, others are just glad to know the legendary comic is alive.

Andy Kaufman, if his May 16, 1984 death was in fact faked as he reportedly told friends it would be, should be fulfilling his twenty-year return prophecy next Sunday, May 16, 2004. See event planned by friends at the House of Blues club in Hollywood. Cross your fingers.

Andy Kaufman is alive and posting on blogger.com exactly 20 years after his "faked" death? It's really tempting to completely discredit this as a big hoax. But after all...who else but Andy Kaufman would pull such a stunt?
Regardless of the rumors regarding Andy Kaufman's death, it is almost certain that he did indeed die on May 16, 1984. His death certificate is on file with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, and is ... available on the popular website The Smoking Gun.
When Andy Kaufman succumbed suddenly to lung cancer in 1984, some of his fans believed that his death was yet another elaborate prank.
