Andrew Dice Clay Tickets Andrew was born in Brooklyn, New York, and in the early stages of his career, using the name Andrew Clay, was an actor and appeared in 1980s low budget Porn films. Like Richard Pryor, Andrew Dice Clay began his career as a dirty comedian. Early on when he ran out of jokes, he realized that he could survive by picking on members of the audience. Eventually his style was developed out of this and he became one of the most verbally abusive and confrontational performance artists around. Using violent sexual imagery, joking about beating up stupid women, making fun of queers, and fat people, he was clearly out of control to begin with. After people stopped going to his shows and became sick of Clay, he decided to clean up his act and become a respectable sitcom star.

Andrew "Dice" Clay (born on September 29, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American comedian and actor. He is known for his profane comedy in a career that has lasted more than 20 years. His popularity peaked in the late 1980s.
Dice's controversial macho image often collides with Andrew's real family life, and the man behind all the limericks and leather is in a fight all his own. He's a devoted father of two teenage, rocker sons (11 and 16) dealing with a broken marriage and the challenges of middle age. And his new fianc.. Eleanor (Dice got engaged while he was still married, naturally) is just now realizing what she's gotten herself into. Not that she's a pushover. This South Philly girl is a former female wrestler who can dish it out as good as he can.
Clay's growing notoriety led to his being offered a recording contract with Rick Rubin 's Def American label. Comedy records do not traditionally sell well, and so it was a shock, even to Clay himself, when his debut album Dice was a commercial success. Sampled excerpts from the album would find themselves on tracks by Ice Cube , N.W.A , and one-hit wonders EMF , among other artists. Clay was very controversial, and his appearance on the MTV Video Awards to promote his new movie, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane , earned him a "lifetime ban" from the network when he started performing some of his already-notorious nursery rhymes. Further controversy ensued when he hosted Saturday Night Live : musical guest Sinéad O'Connor and cast member Nora Dunn refused to appear, protesting Clay's misogynistic persona. Clay donated the money he made from this appearance to charity.
Well, New York native Clay, who was born plain old Andrew Silverstein in 1958, has spent the last decade dividing his time between stage and screen. As well as continuing the stand-up comedy he’s ... appeared in a number of films including 1990’s The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane, the 1995 comedy Jury Duty and One Night At McCool’s in 2001 (which saw him playing twin brothers, co-starring with Matt Dillon, John Goodman and Liv Tyler).
Not long after, Clay aligned himself with New York City-based talk program "The Opie and Anthony Show." The show, which was rapidly becoming popular in New York City at the time, was a perfect match for Clay and his appearances seemed to breathe new life into his persona and on-stage act. 2000 saw the release of "Face Down, Ass Up," the comedian's first album in over two years. Clay credits Opie and Anthony for revitalizing his career, which is confirmed in the liner notes to the album.
