Andretti Green Racing, which won the 2004 and 2005 IndyCar Series championships and 2005 Indianapolis 500, has won 28 Indy Racing League events in five seasons, including 24 in the IndyCar Series and four in the Indy Pro Series. In addition to its new ALMS effort in 2007, the team fields four full-time entries in the IndyCar Series, a fifth-entry in the Indianapolis 500 and a single-car team in the Indy Pro Series.
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT - News) and Andretti Green Racing (AGR) today announced the company's title sponsorship of Danica Patrick's IndyCar for the 2007 IndyCar Series season. Motorola will serve as the major sponsor on Patrick's #7 car, while continuing to provide critical two-way communication solutions for all four Andretti Green teams. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1993 by Barry Green and Gerry Forsythe as Forsythe Green Racing, they fielded two Atlantic cars for Claude Bourbonnais and Jacques Villeneuve. In 1994 Barry Green and Gerry Forsythe split up and Barry renamed the team Team Green, with his brother Kim Green joining as team manager, and competing in the 1994 CART championship as a single car team for Jacques, eventually winning both the Indianapolis 500 and the CART championship in 1995. In 1996 Team Green became known as the Brahma Sports Team for a season, with driver Raul Boesel. In 1997 KOOL tobacco took over as a major sponsor with Parker Johnstone, before expanding to a two-car effort in 1998 with Paul Tracy and rising youngster Dario Franchitti. The two stayed on as teammates for five seasons.
Andretti Green ... has retained promising IRL rookie Dan Wheldon as a fourth driver for the team. The young Briton was the first driver to run the new Honda HI3R engine, in a two-day test of the powerplant at Homestead-Miami Speedway last December. Wheldon, a former championship runner-up in both the Atlantic and Indy Lights categories, will race for Andretti Green at the Indianapolis 500 and other select events this season.
