Andorra will pay for the building of the airport, just ten minutes from the Andorran capital. With the opening due in 3-4 years, this will impact property prices and encourage more ski holiday visitors.

Andorra tiene mas de 60 lagos. Los más representativos son el lago de Juclar, cuya superficie es la más extensa de todos los lagos del Principado con 21 hectáreas, el lago de l'Illa con 13 hectáreas, el lago (artificial) de Engolasters con 7 hectáreas y los tres lagos de Tristaina. Respecto al lago de Juclar, durante la época estival, y por la consecuente falta de agua por efecto del verano, puede avistarse como tres lagos diferentes, pero en realidad es el mismo.

In the 9th cent., Holy Roman Emperor Charles II is reputed to have made the bishop of Seo de Urgel overlord of Andorra. The French counts of Foix contested this overlordship, and finally in 1278 an agreement was reached providing joint suzerainty. The rights of the count passed by inheritance through the house of Albret to Henry IV of France, and from the French kings to the French presidents.

The fact is that Andorra as well as L'Urgell and "La Cerdanya" passed in 817 A.D. to depend of the Carolingian Sovereignty integrating themselves in the "Marca of Tolosa". We suppose that when the Carolingian Empire disappear, during the kingdom of "Carles el Calb" (Charles the Bald) (823 A.D.-877 A.D.) this king gave the Andorran territory to Sunifred the first, count of Cerdanya and Urgell (843 A.D.), thanking him specifically his help in the fights against Normands.

There are over 50 ski resorts throughout the mountain range of the Pyrénées that separate Spain from France with Andorra's high altitude, snow-sure and sunny slopes resting comfortably above and between its larger neighbors. The Pyrénées listing contains all five of the Andorran resorts but is limited to three in Spain and three in France.
