Annual membership in the Ancient Philosophy Society includes a subscription to Epoché: A Journal for the History of Philosophy. The membership period is May 1-April 30 and members for 2007-2008 will received Epoché volume 12. The Society sponsors a scholarly conference each year and a selection of papers from the conference are published in the journal.

This year's program for the Ancient Philosophy Society's meeting at the New School in New York is almost final. For those of you trying to make plans, see this post for hotel information, and note that the conference is set to begin on Thursday the 10th at 2pm and it will end on Sunday the 13th after a keynote address by Barbara Cassin scheduled from 11:15am to 1pm.

Professor Seddon’s area of expertise is Philosophy in general, but specifically Philosophy of Religion, Metaphysics, Ancient Philosophy, Stoic Ethics, Classical Chinese Philosophy (including Taoism), and Applied Philosophy. Until 1996 he was the Director of Studies and editor of The Philosopher for the Philosophical Society of England. He has taught a wide range of Liberal Arts topics in further education colleges and correspondence colleges. Since 1987, he has been actively mentoring students via distance learning for Warnborough College. Professor Seddon has had his work published in books, and has published numerous articles and reviews in several periodicals including: Practical Philosophy, the Volga Journal of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Philosophy Now, and The Philosopher.

The conference registration fee, together with 2008-09 membership dues in the Ancient Philosophy Society, is $75 for individuals and $30 for students with valid ID. The conference registration fee for APS members already paid for 2008-09 is $25 for individuals and $5 for students.
