Anathema

Anathema is the name of the city built on the side of a planetoid that originally came from the Solar System's Kuiper Belt. Converted into a weapon using block transfer technology, the planetoid was adopted as home by the Remote, who used a central media transmitter to transmit signals which allowed the city to be built. Amongst its signals, the transmitter controls fighters which continuously attack its own buildings.
Anathema is for 2 to 4 players, and takes about 30 minutes to play. According to the APE Games web site, "Anathema (which means 'curse' or 'cursed one') is a card game based on the fast-paced classic card game Casino. Players capture face-up cards on the table with cards from their hands by matching point values. While the rules are simple, your subtle strategies can make the difference between winning and becoming Anathema."
Anathema Anathema has a basic and advanced game, and Ill start by explaining some of the mechanics of the former. A deck of fifty-two cards, consisting of four suits (spell, witch, village, and familiar) each numbered 1 through 13, is shuffled. Five of the cards (the 1 spell, 1 witch, 1 village, 1 familiar, and the 2 village) have point values of 1, while the thirteen of witches has a point value of 2. One player is chosen as the dealer (last person to curse) and deals four cards to each player and four face-up in the middle of the table, two at a time. The player to the left of the dealer goes first, and then play continues clockwise around the table.

Anathema - A Fine Day To Exit No doubt, the name Anathema has become synonymous with quality, emotive, and certainly underrated music. Nodding obviously to Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, two of their oft-mentioned and admitted muses, Anathema's latest, A Fine Day to Exit, is a richly textured work of subtle, rather complex moods. The methodically paced, hesitant "Pressure" bears the closest resemblance to Radiohead's work, while Vincent Cavanagh's singing has a Buckley-esque manner to it. Following the lead of others perhaps, Anathema have taken up an interest in electronics, although the extent of its penetration amounts merely to adding a subtle textural dimension to the music and bridging songs with synthesized ambience.
In spring '91, Anathema decided to record their second demo. Their first one, called 'An Iliad of Woes' did not get them a record deal. But this one would. When Hammy of Peaceville records heard this demo, he signed the lads of Anathema for a record deal, luckily. Otherwise the world maybe wouldn't have heard their great following releases.

According to history as taught by the Immaculate Order, the Anathema once ruled creation with an iron fist, and it was only when the Immaculate Dragons defeated them that the human race was freed from their demonic masters. Since the Shogunate, Celestial Exaltation has been interpreted as a form of possession. According to Immaculate Philosophy, once someone is possed by an Anathematic Spirit, they become a demonic force and the original soul of the host is devoured, the only viable response is to exterminate the Anathema with the Wyld Hunt.
