Amy Dumas is a known animal lover. She owned four ducks on two different occasions in her adolescent years. As a young adult she would volunteer her time to animal shelters and ... during her fifteen month neck injury she founded her animal charity A.D.O.R.E and donated time and money to animal shelters in North Carolina . Amy has had three dogs. Cody, who passed away from cancer in 2003, Mason (also deceased), and Lucas (currently living with Matt Hardy following their separation.) In addition, she is currently fostering a dog named Louie.

Amy Dumas had a crush on an older boy when she was a 15-year-old punk rocker. He was in a local band called Something, and she would go bonkers in the front row at every show she could attend. Sometimes she’d skip class at Lassiter High to go hang out at the store where he worked, T-Shirt Dragnet in Little Five Points. In her slambook one day, she wrote a poem and drew a picture of him.

Amy Dumas aka Lita started out training down in Mexico. Amy made her ECW Debut in 1999 as Miss Congeniality. It only took a few months before she was offered a WWE developmental contract. Upon debuting in the WWE, Amy was paired up with luchador wrestler Essa Rios and given the name Lita. Rios eventually would turn on Lita after she had unintentionally cost him a match. As Rios was getting ready to unload on Lita, the Hardy Boys came to rescue her from harm's way.

To what is known, Amy Dumas' story started in the RWA. She came into the RWA sometime in 2000, along with the Hardy Boyz, Amy (known primary as one of her alter-ego's Lita) and the Hardyz made the famed "Team Xtreme". In a federation that had it's fair share of stables, Team Xtreme was one of the better ones. Amy won the womens title an undisclosed amount of times and actually was the only woman entered into the RWA-WWF's Royal Rumble in 2001. While this was going on, Amy ... worked for another federation known as DeWf (EMF HOFer Primetime's federation by the way) and won the womens title there as well. It would seem that the Hardyz and Lita (Amy) were going to be a force for a very long time in the RWA-WWF. But that all changed after Amy was lured to the RWA-WCW.

Amy Dumas was inspired to get into wrestling by WCW's Rey Mysterio, Jr., and began working in the Independent Promotions under the name Angelica. Her early days include time in Mexico, attempting to learn the art.
