Heyman only wanted Amy to work as a valet, with her first pay-per-view exposure on July 18, 1999. Being a valet was not good enough for Amy, she wanted to wrestle! So when ECW's Rob Van Dam introduced Amy to Dory Funk, she trained and graduated from The Funking Conservatory in August 1999. In September 1999, Amy had her final match in ECW. During this time Dory Funk had compiled old video's of Amy, and sent them to WWF talent relations. The WWF thought Amy had what it takes to be a part of the WWF, and offered a contract without even watching her in a try-out match.
