Amy Dumas: Band
built 236 days ago
Anyone who has ever watched Amy Dumas, formerly known as Lita, perform her acrobatic, high-flying moves in World Wrestling Entertainment knows that she isn't afraid to take risks. Dumas perhaps took her biggest chance yet last November when she left WWE after nearly seven years to pursue a career in the music business. The former women's wrestling champ is the lead singer of the Luchagors, an Atlanta-based punk rock band. Dumas, 31, hasn't walked away from the ring completely... and she will make an appearance at Sunday's Maryland Championship Wrestling show in Dundalk.
Amy Dumas attended many different schools in the USA through out her childhood and adolescent years. While in high school, Amy took up swimming and practiced judo competitively. She managed to finish High School 6 months prior graduation. Amy played bass guitar in a band called "3 Card Trick", and she was a roadie for another band for 5 years before getting into wrestling. She ... took 3 years of Spanish , which ended up helping her later life.
[W]hen her contract expired, Dumas retired last November. Having moved back to Atlanta, she and Morton had become reacquainted and then romantically involved. Messing around on songs together, they decided to form The Luchagors last summer, with the band playing their first gig a year ago. The name combines Amy and Shane’s two personal passions – Lucha, of course, comes from the Mexican wrestling term, while the “gor” suffix is short for gore, referring to Morton’s interest in horror and fantasy. Some people – those under 12, for instance – might even know him better as his alter ego, Professor Morte.
- The reality of Amy Dumas.
November 26th, 2006 Amy was a top female wrestler in WWE. Amy retired from the WWE after her final match against Mickie James at the Survivor Series and is now pretty much focused on her band, The Luchagors.
