In Summer 2008, Abhishek Bachchan will join his father Amitabh Bachchan and other leading entertainers from Hindi cinema on the world-wide One Amazing Night Tour. The tour will reportedly cover numerous countries and continents over a two month period. Amitabh's company AB Corp Ltd. is helping put the concert together.[19]

Bachchan's closeness to the Gandhi and Nehru dynasties reflects his upper-crust heritage. Unusually for one of Bombay's film world, which despite its popularity is often viewed as a den of iniquity, the actor is from a scholarly family. His father, a celebrated poet, was the first to translate Shakespeare into Hindi. Something of a bard's eloquence flutters around Amitabh and his mesmeric, purring baritone.

Asked how he would like to be remembered, Bachchan goes completely silent for what seems like 10 minutes before saying that he merely wishes to be remembered as a good person. He then talks about his father, Harishvansh Rai Bachchan, an acclaimed Hindi poet, who is now 94 and very ill. Bachchan recites, beautifully, several verses of his dad’s famous poem ‘Madhushala’, and for the first time during the lunch, it seems that the restaurant is listening in on us.
