1. Broadway Musicals -- Tony Awards
   Broadway shows and artists are honored every June when the Antoinette Perry Awards (Tony Awards) are given by the American Theatre Wing and the League of American Theatres and Producers. The Tony is Broadway's most prestigious award, the importance of which has increased since the annual broadcast on television began. Celebrities are often chosen to host the show, like Hugh Jackman and Rosie O'Donnell, in addition to celebrity presenters. While some critics have felt that the show should focus on celebrating the stage, many others recognize the positive impact that famous faces lend to selling more tickets and bringing more people to the theatre. The performances from Broadway musicals on the telecast have ... been cited as vital to the survival of many Broadway shows. Many theatre people, notably critic Frank Rich, dismiss the Tony awards as little more than a commercial for the limited world of Broadway, which after all can only support a maximum of two dozen shows a season, and constantly call for the awards to embrace off-Broadway theatre as well.
2. Academy Award -- Academy Awards
   The only thing standing between the man who used to have a bit part on The Facts of Life and his first Academy Award... is a little balding guy named Paul Giamatti. After back-to-back outright snubs for beloved, deeply nuanced performances in American Splendor (2003) and Sideways (2004), the Academy has finally seen fit to acknowledge Giamatti for his role as boxing manager Joe Gould in the tragically underseen Cinderella Man. (Talk about snubs: Giamatti's nomination was only one of the three for yet another of the year's best movies, and the only one not in technical categories.)
3. Modern Music -- Americans
   The American School of Modern Music is the official correspondent in France of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. As a Berklee International Network School, members of which cover the entire globe (USA, Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East), each year Berklee offers American School students the possibility to obtain substantial scholarships.
4. Jason Mraz -- American Music
   Jason Mraz is inviting fans to contribute footage to his music video for "Geek in the Pink" via his Web site. Fans can upload their photos and videos to the site and then use online video-editing software from partner Muvee to edit their footage into the video.
5. Musicals
   For Hollywood and the rest of the world, Musicals were a new phenomenon. The sound era did not arrive until thirty years after the first movies were made. The first musical ushered in the sound era with the Jazz Singer in 1927 starring Al Jolson. It is thought that his first words addressed to his mother launched the sound era.
6. The 58Th Annual Tony Awards -- Radio City Music Hall
   The 58th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from the stage of Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 6. In order to be eligible for this year’s awards, a show must open on Broadway no later than May 5. Nominations for the 2004 Tonys will be announced on May 10.
7. Christina -- Grammy Award
   Christina ... proved that she can work with other divas, as she did in the remake of "Lady Marmalade," from the Moulin Rouge! (2001) soundtrack. Teamed withLil' Kim, Pink and Mya, Christina stole the show. The video took home the 2001 MTV Video Music Award for Best Video of the Year. She also appeared on the All-Star Tribute remake of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?" with Bono and Nelly Furtado.
8. Academy Award -- Winners
   Since 1929, the Academy Awards have awarded excellence in movies. From "Wings" and "All Quiet on the Western Front" to "Crash" and "The Departed", WhoWonWhen.com lists winners over the years in many Academy Awards categories.
9. Christina Aguilera -- Grammy Award
   While Christina Aguilera was discovering how to stand up, The Academy gave a standing ovation to these movies and actors: 'Ordinary People'- Directed by Robert Redford won the Best Movie Academy Award in 1980. Also this year, the Academy Award for Best Actor went to Robert De Niro for his role in 'Raging Bull' and the Best Actress Award went to Sissy Spacek for her role in 'Coal Miner's Daughter'.
10. Beyonce -- Grammy Awards
    Beyonce was no stranger to award nominations in 2007... as her role in the musical Dreamgirls (2006) garnered the star her first official nomination as an actress by none other than the prestigious Golden Globes. She was also awarded the International Artist Award at the 2007 American Music Awards.
