1. X -- Americans
   X emerged from the L.A. punk scene as the most critically lauded American band of the early '80s. X helped to vindicate the West Coast scene, which had lagged behind New York and London's early punk and new-wave movements. But while X's music then was properly labeled as punk, the music and lyrics were more sophisticated than the hardcore sound that would later define the genre.
2. Malcolm X -- African Americans
   The issue of violence loomed large in Malcolm X's rhetoric. In this speech and elsewhere, he refused to repudiate violence, realizing that most of the white Americans who applauded King's nonviolence would not react nonviolently themselves in the face of brutality. By refusing to embrace nonviolence, Malcolm X made King look more moderate and more palatable than he would otherwise have appeared.
3. Tony Kaye -- American History
   Tony Kaye, best known for “American History X,” has been working on “Lake of Fire” for the past fifteen years and has made a film that is unquestionably the definitive work on the subject of abortion. Shot in luminous black and white, which is in fact an endless palette of grays, the film has the perfect esthetic for a subject where there can be no absolutes, no ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ He gives equal time to both sides, covering arguments from either extremes of the spectrum, as well as those at the center, who acknowledge that, in the end, everyone is ‘right’ - or ‘wrong.’
4. Edward Norton -- American History
   Edward Norton is the greatest actor in the history of the universe, a noted Republican and supporter of George W. Bush. He is ... notable for being one of the only (if not [T]he only) people to have a last name with no capitalization. In interviews he is known to pretend to have Liberal leanings for the purpose of humor much like Stephen Colbert, also has been known to protect recycle bins. Norton is also a world champion in many forms of martial arts. While Mr. Bigglesworth has challenged many actors to death battles, he leaves Norton's challenge unanswered. This had led many observers to question Bigglesworth's true karate powers.
5. African Americans -- Histories
   The influence of African Americans is not an aspect of Hawaii’s history that has attracted much, if any, attention. But filmmakers Edgy Lee and Don Brown intend to change that with “Exit to Paradise,” a one-hour documentary they hope to complete by summer.
6. Liberty X
   Album number two for Liberty X, Being Somebody is a set that glides in on the back of a fair few perfectly placed, Liberty-sized successes. Not least of these was the Being Nobody track the band recorded for bootleg renovator Richard X, a track that melded the Human Leagues Being Boiled to Chaka Khans Aint Nobody. Naturally the track figures here as do fifteen other lovingly sculptured musical confections. The perfect band for interpreting and communicating the UK pop scene and the way it moves forward in these preter-Neptunes times, Liberty X are adaptable enough to be able to let loose straight-up ballads, squelchy twenty-third century electro and up-tempo party grooves without missing a beat. Progressive, brilliantly-executed and almost robot-esque in its pristine production, some day all records will be made this way. But, till then, Being Somebody will lead the UK pop field by a long, long way.
7. The X Men -- X-Men
   Following the death of Professor X and the ensuing battles that the X-Men had against their enemies which saw the destruction of the Xavier Mansion, Magneto saw for himself an opportunity to lead all mutants before they were destroyed. He quickly killed Stryfe and rallied the Mutant Liberation Front to his cause, as well as other mutants, some former X-Men. He then attacked the White House, where he took the government officials hostage. The President activated the Sentinels in secret. Easily stopping the Sentinel attacks against his newly-created White House base, Magneto became somewhat confidant and when Psylocke and Storm arrived to warn about the future, Magneto tried to prove how easily he could halt any attacks made on him by destroying the incoming Sentinels. Unfortunately for Magneto, one of the Sentinels contained a nuclear warhead, which destroyed the White House, Magneto, and all of the mutants under his command.
8. Venezuelan History
   In October and November 2001, CTV members across the country voted at 9,100 polling places in the first one-member, one-vote, secret ballot union election in Venezuelan history. The resulting leadership, headed by Carlos Ortega of the petroleum workers, is the most pluralistic in the CTV's history, with nearly all the parties of the left included. While the government attempted to prevent the balloting in several locations, independent observers from the Catholic University and the international labor movement called the elections free and fair. Regrettably, Chávez publicly rejected the CTV election results and refused to recognize the new leadership. And late in 2001, the Chávez-controlled Congress enacted a package of laws that eliminated collective bargaining and the right to strike in the public sector and the petroleum industry.
9. Balkan History
   Twenty-Five Lectures in Balkan History" is an ongoing project which were originally written for an introductory undergraduate course on modern Balkan history, taught at Swarthmore College in 1995. The twenty five lectures are divided into 13 topics including Defining the "Balkans:" An other Europe; Limitations of Western models in the interwar period; The Balkans in the age of bi-polar politics and Explaining the revolutions of the 1980s. 10. History of Theater
