3. Six Flags Great America -- Flags St
   In December 2005, stockholders approved a plan offered by Daniel Snyder to take over management of the Six Flags chain, who appointed former ESPN employee Mark Shapiro as CEO of Six Flags. Shapiro began to change the parks to give them a more family-friendly environment. These changes were very visible in the 2006 season.

   Six Flags NYSE: PKS is a chain of amusement parks and theme parks headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and New York City. Their spokesperson, Mr. Six, is featured in many advertisements. There are 40 parks run by Six Flags, 24 of which carry the Six Flags name. The first Six Flags amusement park was built halfway between the cities of Fort Worth and Dallas at Arlington in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The park took its name from the six flags that have flown over the state of Texas during its history (Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States and the Confederate States of America).

   Just in time for Flag Day, the 14th of June, and the Fourth of July is the release of this American history-themed DVD collection of Peanuts animated episodes. Creator Charles Schulz always had a hand in each show, so the stories are humorous and simplistic, but fact-based, portrayals of these events that young and old can enjoy.

   The origin of the U.S. flag design is uncertain. A popular story credits Betsy Ross for sewing the first flag from a pencil sketch by George Washington who personally commissioned her for the job. However, no evidence for this theory exists beyond Ross's own records. The British historian Sir Charles Fawcett has suggested that the design of the flag may have been derived from the flag and jackof the British East India Company . 9. Flag of the United States -- Stripes
   The first time the Stars and Stripes flew in a Flag Day celebration was in Hartford, Conn., 1861, the first summer of the Civil War. In the late 1800s, schools held Flag Day programs to contribute to the Americanization of immigrant children, and the observance caught on with individual communities. As a patriotic custom, the Stars and Stripes still flies in front of schools when classes are in session.

    The Sarajevo Bobsled (1984-1988), an Intamin bobsled, ran from 1984 to 1988 when it was relocated to Six Flags Great Americaand renamed Rolling Thunder. It is now at Great Escape running as Alpine Bobsled.
