American Airlines, the world's largest airline, serves almost 250 cities around the globe, and it's working on the technology amenities. The company will test high-speed Internet access on some of its Boeing 767 jets. The service will be available for a fee to passengers in all classes and, pending successful tests, will be expanded to its entire fleet.

American has made tremendous strides in the last two years at its Kansas City base. As part of a Cabin Improvement Program, all 58 of the airline's fleet of 767-300 aircraft received cabin modifications on schedule by the end of 2007. Employees ... managed to shorten the scheduled modification time by as much as 33 percent and saved 62 dock days. This efficiency increase enabled additional work to be done for American and third-parties, while also resulting in fewer days each American aircraft was out of revenue-generating service.

American will operate five daily flights between each city pair using Fokker 100 jet aircraft reconfigured with 56 first-class seats. Later in the year, American will introduce reconfigured MD80s for service at Love Field. Further details on the new service will be released shortly.

International Longhaul - American offers three classes of service on its longhaul International Flagship Service flights operated with 777 aircraft, including flat beds in First Class. Lie-flat seats in Business Class will be introduced starting in 2007.
