   Charles Bronfman: On Feb. 19, 1999, Charles Bronfman was elected chairman of United Jewish Communities (UJC). This $4 billion cash cow subsumes 189 Jewish Federation contributors and 400 Jewish communities in North America. At a Nov. 9-13 UJC General Assembly in Washington, Bronfman will pass the chairmanship to James A. Tisch, son of Mega member Laurence Tisch.

   The Dixie Chicks treated fans to an intimate performance during a taping of VH1 Storytellers at the Los Angeles Theater in Los Angeles on September 20. The concert, which benefited the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, will premiere on VH1, Saturday, October 28 at 9PM. While their songs tell a story, The Dixie Chicks reveal the inspirations behind some of their classic hits as well as a few of their future classics, such as "Not Ready To Make Nice" which turned their whole world around...and they kind of like it. 6. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers -- Rock
   In 1985, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers participated in the world-spanning charity rock concert Live Aid. They ... played at the 2001 America: A Tribute to Heroes benefit concert to where he played the song "I Won't Back Down" as a fitting tribute to the current post 9-11 climate.
7. Billy Joel -- Albums
   While Billy Joel has never been a critic's darling, he has certainly succeeded in presenting himself in various ways during his two decades of work as a pop/rock superstar. Despite a lack of critical endorsements, Joel put together a string of hit albums and singles during the late '70s and throughout the '80s.

   Movie star Will Smith was part of the 1980's pop duo D.J.
