The Amazing Race is a reality television game show in which teams race around the world in competition with other teams. Contestants strive to arrive first at the end of each leg of the race to avoid the possibility of elimination. Teams are progressively eliminated until three teams are left; at that point, the team which arrives first in the final leg is awarded a large cash grand prize. Created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, the original series has aired in the United States since 2001 and has earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards, including all five "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" awards that have been given. The show has branched out to include a number of international versions following a similar format.

The Amazing Race (2001–) is a critically-acclaimed competitive reality show that involves, to put it simply, a race around the world. The show, hosted by Phil Keoghan, pits several teams up against each other, with the goal of being the first team to successfully complete all tasks before everyone else. Each episode of the show is made of a "leg," which is a way for the show to recognize the beginning and end points of an episode. At the end of every leg is a pitstop, and the last team to reach the pitstop is eliminated. On pre-determined legs, the pitstop is a non-elimination pitstop, meaning that the last team to arrive receives a second chance at the game.

The Amazing Race 10 --- The next season of The Amazing Race arrived on September 17, 2006. Following the ninety-minute premiere, the program settled down into its Sunday weekly slot at 8 P.M., but was often delayed by football overruns. This edition saw the teams visiting locations such as China, Mongolia and Madagascar and featured one of the most diverse groups of teams ever. Reaction to this season was generally downcast, due a somewhat unexciting season finale, the repeated football delays in some markets and a final three that was considered by many to be unappealing. However, many were delighted at the team of Lyn and Karlyn making the final three --- the first all-female team on the program to make the final three and cross the finish line. Congratulations to Tyler and James, winners of this season!

The Amazing Race, which has won an Emmy for Outstanding Reality/Competition Program every year since 2003, and is about to launch its tenth edition, has yet to bring back any previous contestants. Phil Keoghan, host of The Amazing Race, says he is open to the idea of doing an Amazing Race: All-Stars edition. "I think if the fans really want it, then they should get what they want," said Keoghan in an IGN interview. The tenth season of The Amazing Race premieres Sunday, September 18 on CBS. This year they're sending the teams racing around the world going west instead of east for the first time.

For the third year in a row, “Amazing Race” won the best reality show program, beating “Survivor” and “American Idol,” the other stalwarts in the category. Oh, well. At least “Amazing Race” is a fine show and a greater technical challenge than any other show.

The Amazing Race 10’s Erwin and Godwin Cho have ventured into the Kharma business with their newest idea, ALittleKharma.com. The idea behind the business is to offer and sell products made by independent artists, while using part of the money made to fund random acts of kindness. Though the products currently for sale on the site are, to put it mildly, rather lacking, they already have a few ideas for their first random acts of kindness:
