Amanda Peet got her big break starring in the sitcom Jack and Jill. After a few years of bit roles in B movies, Peet was cast as Jill St. Claire in The Whole Nine Yards with Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis. She was on her way to superstardom, appearing in films like Changing Lanes, A Lot Like Love, Syriana, and Martian Child. She reunited with Matthew Perry in the short-lived NBC drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. She married screenwriter David Benioff. The two have a son together.

In 1999, Amanda landed her first major role as "Jack" on the TV show "Jack & Jill". The show lasted two seasons. In 2000, she got a supporting role in the movie "The Whole Nine Yards". It was her first wide-release feature film. Also in 2000, Amanda was selected as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World by People Magazine.

During the erotic sequence in THE WHOLE NINE YARDS (2000), Peet was afraid to do the nude scenes, but overcame the fear after the director stated that the erotic scenes was pertinent to the script. This was similar to WILD THINGS (1998), where Denise Richards was topless during the ménage-à trois sequence.
