Alyssa Milano is the daughter of Italian-American parents Lin, a fashion designer, and Tom, a film music editor. Alyssa was born in a working class neighborhood in Brooklyn and grew up in a modest house on Staten Island. One day, her babysitter, who was an aspiring dancer, dragged Alyssa along to a an open audtion for the first national tour of Annie. But it was Alyssa, not the sitter, who beat out 1,500 other wanna be stage actresses to snag a role. So at the tender age of seven, with her mother in tow, Alyssa joined the tour as July, one of the orphans. After 18 months on the road, Alyssa, who had begun to garner a reputation as an energetic and charismatic young actress, left Annie to be featured in off-Broadway productions and television commercials.

She rose to teen stardom as the tomboyish Samantha Micelli on the ABC sitcom Who's the Boss, which ran from 1984-1992. Never really making the transition to feature films, she appeared in sleazy made-for-TV movies, provocative ad campaigns, and nude photographs. In one of her more prominent TV performances, she portrayed Amy Fisher in Casualties of Love: The "Long Island Lolita" Story on CBS in 1993. Her few feature film credits include the quirky romantic comedy Hugo Pool and the thriller Below Utopia, starring Ice-T. She joined the cast of Melrose Place on FOX for the 1997-1998 season before moving over to the WB for Charmed, co-starring Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs.

Long before she battled otherworldly spirits in Charmed -- the third season is just out on DVD -- Alyssa Milano got her start fighting the undead in Embrace of the Vampire. She plays a virginal college student who must remain unravaged -- not exactly sure why, but who cares? Anyway, there are several nice nude moments in the movie, but the best one adds an extra ingredient that makes nudity so much better...lesbianism. Alyssa is lounging around campus in white overalls and knee socks, looking every bit the trembling virgin. In swoops dark-haired exotic beauty Charlotte Lewis, a photographer who invites Alyssa back to her studio to see her work. Suuuuure.
