Ally Sheedy: High Art
built 613 days ago
For Ally Sheedy, caring and affection must be expressed tangibly, and she loves giving and receiving gifts. Ally values luxury, comfort, and elegance very highly and appreciates beautiful things. She can be self-indulgent and extravagant. Being overly possessive of people she loves and of her belongings is something Ally Sheedy needs to beware of.
Though some see her as a case of arrested promise, idiosyncratic Hollywood outsider Ally Sheedy has always stuck to her guns and is not afraid to poke her nipples out like thumbs. Sheedy’s high water mark for public recognition was undoubtedly as a proto-Goth freaky-deaky chick in The Breakfast Club (1985).

Loosely based on the life and work of photographer Nan Goldin, the 1998 film High Art brought Ally Sheedy back into the spotlight as a serious actress after years of uninspiring roles. Sheedy plays Lucy Berliner, a renowned photographer who mysteriously retired at the height of her career and lives in a strange world fueled by heroin addiction. Lucy's dark existence is disturbed by the entrance of Sydney (Radha Mitchell), who works for an art magazine, and the two begin a tumultuous affair.
