Allen Iverson's mother wasn't. Ann Iverson was miles away at the Four Seasons hotel in Center City. At least a half-hour after the wedding was supposed to start Aug. 3, 2001, she waved and talked to passers-by before she got into her limousine.

Apparently, Allen Iverson really wants out of Philadelphia and he really hates bowling. He was the only no-show at a team “meet and greet” with sponsors and premier season ticket holders at a Philadelphia bowling alley. Maurice Cheeks has stated that he’ll be fined accordingly, just a couple of days after an argument at practice with Iverson.

After the defeat in the 2001 Finals, Iverson's Sixers would never again see the success he had in the 2000-01 season. In the next season Iverson again won the scoring title averaging 31.4 points, but the Sixers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the first time in Iverson's career.

In the 1998-1999 season, Iverson had his first trip to the playoffs. He started all ten playoff games and averaged 44.4 minutes per game despite being hampered by a number of nagging injuries. Iverson led the Sixers to an upset over the higher seeded Orlando Magic, before losing to a veteran laden Indiana Pacers squad. That year, he averaged 26.8 points earning his first scoring title.

Iverson scored a season-high 51 points against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in a loss. Iverson poured out 49 points in only the first three quarters, but was shut down in the fourth and held to only a layup. His teammates could not help the cause (Anthony, 4 for 10). Iverson ... finished with 8 assists.
