Allah: Words
built 622 days ago
The word Allah is used in all Arabic translations of the Bible. It was used in some English translations of the Bible like the original "Scofield Reference Bible"-reference: what is his name? by Deedat. In the New Testament, Jesus is believed to cry before his death "ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” Eloi is the exact Arabic word "Elahi" which comes from the same root as Allah.

Our Motto : 'In-Allah-ha-Ma'anaa' ("Be not grieved, for surely Allah is with us." - The Holy Quran 9:40). We find spiritual strength, courage and comfort, in the times of trials and hardships, from this Divine Quranic revelation that descended upon the pure heart of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), so as to console and compose him during one of the most perilous moments of his life. <Please click the 'Our Motto' link on our homepage for more details> In other words, according to Mirza Sahib, the prerequisite for that light of Allah is purity of heart. Sincerity of heart must come first; after that everything is open to us, and this is borne out by that statement of Allah to our Holy Prophet (pbuh): "The heavens and the earth, vast as they are, cannot contain Me, but the heart of a believer can."

The word of Allah, as received and reported by Mohammed, is divided into two records. The Koran of Mecca was based on religious precepts. The Koran of Medina... became clearly political in scope and direction.
Allah is the Arabic word for God. It is compounded of "al", the definite article, and "ilah", meaning "a god". Therefore, Allah literally means "the god"--somewhat parallel to the capitalized "God" in English. It is used by Muslims world-wide, as well as Arabic-speaking Christians, Jews, and others.
The word "ilah" in Arabic can be used for a false god or for Allah. (Like when God says (paraphrased) the "ilah" of Ibrahim", and numerous other example.) Anyone who can read the Quran should know this. However, unlike the word "god" in English, which ALWAYS implies a false god. Non-native English speakers sometimes mistakenly believe that "god" and "God" are the same English word, but they are not. They carry completely different meanings. If they doubt this, then they simply don't know how to speak the English language.

Rasool Allah (saw): The Call to Faith and Freedom One day a group of the nobles of Makkah went to the house of Abu Talib, Rasool Allah's (saw) uncle. Abu Talib was the head of his tribe and a leader of the city. "What crazy words your nephew is uttering!" "O Abu Talib", they continued, "You have to stop him from saying such things. Otherwise, it is possible that he will be killed."
