Alison Krauss: Blending Bluegrass
built 655 days ago
Alison Krauss isn't just a bluegrass fiddling diva. She's ... established quite the resume as a producer and, as a result, has managed to work with just about everyone in Nashville. If she hasn't worked with someone directly, chances are she's worked with someone who's worked with them, and so on.
Producer T Bone Burnett found a surprisingly good fit when he matched wispy-voiced bluegrass vocalist Alison Krauss with hard-rock belter Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin fame). Their new CD, Raising Sand, has a relaxed, intimate feel.

While the organic-sounding, low-key Plant/Krauss collaboration, RAISING SAND, is a far cry from Led Zeppelin's stadium rock, it offers up some hauntingly moody textures that should appeal to "Battle of Evermore" admirers.
