This alternate metal foursome Alien Ant Farm was formed in the early 1996 with the charismatic singer and songwriter Dryden Mitchell teaming up with guitarist Terry Corso, Tye Zamora who went to do the base, and talented drummer Mike Cosgrove. Terry ... left the band in 2004 and was replaced by Joe Hill. The group was catapulted into the limelight in 2000 when their first album ANThology was released. It received rave reviews for its remarkable collection of great tracks. Beginning with the brutal opening 'Courage' which touched a raw nerve to the poignant final track, 'Universe,' the album came across as a solid collection of powerful, heartfelt and hilarious songs. The opening track 'Courage' is obviously a standout simply for the presence of some amazing bass, which overshadows the whole song and equally great vocals by Dryden.

There is no one genre to define Alien Ant Farm, although the closest is punk-alternative-grunge-heavy-rock. Since they have not released any new material in the last five years, they fall under the genre of has-beens. Then again, they had to have been a been to be a has-been, in which case they are just a has-.

Alien Ant Farm has a different perspective than most, a sober-eyed outlook spawned in part by a catastrophic bus accident last year, which killed the driver and left every member of the band badly injured. Mitchell sustained serious damage to his spinal cord.

Alien Ant Farm prolly has one of the best/unique style of music around. Although there album TRuant left a lot to be desired, the previous "ANThology" and there up and coming "up in the attic", are both amazing albums

The SoCal alt-metal foursome Alien Ant Farm formed in 1996 with the raging singer/songwriter Dryden Mitchell, guitarist Terry Corso, bassist Tye Zamora, and drummer Mike Cosgrove. All were bored with their day jobs and sought something else to break them from corporate norms. Music allowed them to freely express themselves, and a friendship was born. They independently released their quirky debut, Greatest Hits, toward the end of the '90s and soon enough noise surrounded the band. It won the award for Best Independent Album at the 1999 L.A. Music Awards and Alien Ant Farm found themselves striking a deal with Papa Roach's New Noize, which is partners with DreamWorks.

The history of Alien Ant Farm took its beginning in 1996 in Riverside, CA, where all members of the group were living. Lads were always attracted by music. Mitchell was inspired by his father, the guitarist. Following Mitchell, Draiden ... began playing guitar, but his friends adviced him to pay his attention to the vocal.
