Alien Ant Farm: Album
built 641 days ago
Alien Ant Farm is the first act signed via a joint arrangement between DreamWorks Records and Papa Roach's New Noize label. Hailing from Southern California, AAF's 1999 debut CD, Greatest Hits, captured Best Independent Rock Album honors at the L.A. Music Awards. Featured on the 2001 Warped Tour, AAF continues to display a tireless work ethic comparable to their insect namesakes.

Alien Ant Farm soon returned to the studio to work on their next album, truANT, which was released in 2003 and produced by Stone Temple Pilots' Robert and Dean DeLeo. The video for "These Days", the first single from the album, was filmed on top of a nearby building during the Red Carpet at the 2003 BET Awards. "Glow" was a mainstream radio success, achieving long lasting Top 20 success in New Zealand. Two months after this album was released... their record label closed its doors.

A recording contract with Papa Roach's New Noize imprint followed, giving Alien Ant Farm all the benefits of the label's distribution deal with the major DreamWorks. "ANThology," released in March 2001, received good reviews and made in-roads into the U.S. national chart. The second single from the album, a quirky cover version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" with an excellent promotional video, helped push the album into the upper regions of the Billboard 200 album chart.
