Alfie is the fellow some American men once longed to be: seductive, well-groomed, English-accented. And Shyer's movie is just a miscued celebration of bachelor pomp. Its other stabs at hipness are dreadful: Mick Jagger and Eurythmic Dave Stewart wrote the mewling soundtrack, and English soul-thang Joss Stone manhandles the theme song.

NEW YORK, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ — Virgin Records has announced details of the upcoming soundtrack companion to Paramount Pictures’ new film, Alfie. “ALFIE — MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE” features thirteen original songs written, performed and produced by Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart. The 15-track collection arrives in stores on October 19th.

Mick Jagger arrived yesterday in New York for press work and interviews for his new "Alfie" movie. He came in from Los Angeles and NOT from Europe. Rumours said Mick and Keith were in Paris and should be in London, which not were correct.
