Alexis Denisof has been in the acting business for quite a while. Beginning his career in theater, the actor later moved on to television and movie roles in the late '80's. Aside from his role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he's had roles in films such as Dakota Roads, First Night, True Blue, and The Misadventures as Margaret. In 1999 he appeared in the colossal NBC miniseries, Noah's Ark as Ham.

Alexis Denisof was born to the son of Russian immigrants; his mother was born in Philadelphia. He grew up in Seattle with his mother and was then sent to New Hampshire to attend boarding school. He traveled through Europe after finishing high school and finally settled in London to join the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and then the Royal Shakespeare Company. While acting in theatre in England he met Anthony Stewart Head in a production of Rope. A few years later he returned to the US with friends to nurse a broken heart, and wound up filming a pilot which never came to fruition. He was then involved in projects including the TV miniseries Noah's Ark, First Knight, and an episode of Highlander.
